This template provides a forecasting financial model for startups using a subscription-based monetization model (SaaS). The controlling parameters are metrics describing your business processes for the first and last month of sales.

This financial model is suitable for startup projects operating with the SaaS subscription model and assumes that audience churn in cohorts occurs evenly. Within the model, key business parameters are defined, and a financial model is built using unit economics. It automatically calculates the required investment, the investor's return on investment based on their share, and computes metrics such as NPV, IRR, unit economics, as well as building visitor cohorts.

Revenue Modeling

The foundation of revenue modeling is built on unit economics, which outlines the income structure. When completing the model, you only need to input the values for unit-economy metrics for the first and last month of sales, and the model will automatically calculate the rest using exponential growth.

For SaaS, the average order value is determined by averaging pricing plans, weighted by the frequency with which customers use each plan.

Getting Started

Download the model to your Google Drive.
Fill in the fields: Complete all the fields on a gray background with blue text across all tabs.
Open formulas: All formulas in the template are fully accessible, and no macros are used.
Modify and share: You are free to modify, edit, use, and share the information within your company (and with third parties if necessary to run your business).
Note: You are not allowed to distribute, resell, or transfer the model to others. The full license terms can be found on a dedicated tab in the template.

License Agreement

This License Agreement (“Agreement”) is between you, the licensee, and Autónomo Daniil Khanin ESZ0548134A (the “Company”), operating under the laws of Spain. The Company owns the financial model (the “Product”) and any modifications, additions, or customizations (the “Service”) provided under this Agreement. This Agreement grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use and incorporate the Product and Service into personal and corporate projects for the organization that purchased the Product and/or Service.

You agree to the following:

1. Scope of Use

You are permitted to use and integrate the Product and/or Service into personal and commercial projects for your company, including financial models, business plans, pitch decks, etc.
You may modify the Product and/or Service to better suit your project’s needs.
Unlimited use of the purchased Product and/or Service is granted within your organization.
If the licensee is an organization, all employees of that organization may use the same license.

2. Restrictions

You are not allowed to distribute, sublicense, or resell the Product and/or Service.
You cannot distribute, license, or sell derivative, recompiled, reverse-engineered, or modified versions of the Product and/or Service.
The Product and/or Service cannot be used in projects for other organizations.
If your customers wish to use the Product and/or Service as part of their product, a separate license must be obtained for each customer.
The Product and/or Service is provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind, express or implied.
The Company retains all rights, title, intellectual property, and interest in the Product and/or Service.

The Company’s liability for costs, damages, or losses arising from your use of the Product and/or Service, including third-party claims against you, is limited to the amount paid for the Product license and/or fees in the 12 months preceding your use of the Service. The Company cannot be held responsible for any consequential damages resulting from your use of the Product and/or Service. We are not financial advisors, planners, brokers, or tax consultants, and the Company, Product, and Service are not intended to provide legal, tax, or financial advice. Since your financial situation is unique, the information and advice obtained through the Product and/or Service may not be appropriate for your situation. You should seek additional advice from your accountant or other financial professionals who are familiar with your specific circumstances before making any final decisions or implementing any financial strategy.

This Agreement is governed by the laws of Spain. Legal proceedings related to this Agreement may only be initiated in the courts of Barcelona.
