Business plan stress test

services

Your plan gets approved — or rejected over a single number.

An investor, bank or partner will find the weak spot in your plan in 10 minutes. I find them 5 days before that — and show you how to fix them.

Who it's for

You have a business plan and a financial model, and soon they'll be reviewed by someone who gives money: an investor, a credit committee, a partner, a board of directors. You've reread the plan a hundred times and no longer see what's wrong with it. And one number that doesn't add up is enough for the reviewer to say "no".

Or you're betting your own money on the plan — a launch, a new direction, an expansion — and the cost of a planning mistake is an order of magnitude higher than the cost of a review.

What exactly I do

I take your plan and financial model and check every number and every assumption:

  • Revenue logic

Is the forecast built on drivers (leads → conversion → customers → average check) or just drawn? Does month 24 follow from month 6 — or is it a hockey stick on faith?

  • Unit economics

Is the LTV formula correct? Is CAC counted in full, or does it flatter you? Will payback survive questions? Will the margin hold as volumes grow?

  • Cohort math

Retention, repeat purchases, churn — on cohorts or on misleading averages? This is the most common fatal error I come across.

  • Cost completeness

What's missing: scaling costs, hiring lag, payment fees, refunds, support load — costs that appear only after growth.

  • Cash flow

Profit on paper vs. money in the account. In which month do you run out of cash by your own plan — and do you know about it?

  • Consistency

Does the marketing budget deliver as many customers as the revenue assumes? Do headcount, capacity and the sales plan not contradict each other?

  • Market and price

Is the market sizing an argument or decoration? Will your price hold up against the customer's real alternatives?

  • The questions you'll be asked

A list of the specific questions an investor or analyst will have about your plan in particular — the ones you don't have an answer to yet.

What you get

  • A written, detailed report. Every issue found, ranked "fatal / serious / cosmetic", with a concrete fix — formulas and logic, not "improve it".

  • A list of the reviewer's questions — with hints on how to answer them.

  • Email support with a 24-hour response. After the report you can ask questions — I reply within 24 hours until you have a clear order of fixes.

  • A re-check of the corrected version within 30 days — I confirm the holes are closed.

I do the audit personally — a human, without AI. I check every number and every assumption myself. I'm personally accountable for every conclusion and every formula.

How it works

  • Day 0. You send the plan and model in any format (Excel, Google Sheets, PDF, deck); we sign an NDA if needed.

  • Days 1–5. I work, without bothering you.

  • Day 5. You get the report and the list of questions.

  • Next. Email support and a re-check after your fixes.

What's not here

I don't write business plans, I don't design decks and I don't introduce you to investors. One thing done properly: an independent check of whether your numbers survive a meeting with a professional reviewer — before it costs you the deal.

Why me

Since 2014 I've worked with more than 3,000 startups — analyzing their financial models specifically from a fundraising angle: where the numbers won't add up, what an investor will latch onto, what will kill the deal. This isn't one-off experience but thousands of models and exactly the errors I look for in yours.

And I wrote a book about it — literally: "Unit Economics: Data-Driven Decisions for Business and Startups", foreword by Ash Maurya, creator of Lean Canvas. Lead author of the Unit Economics section in The Product Map.
