To understand the concept of a cohort, imagine the task of gathering a group of children in a sports section during the year you will select children to prepare for competitions.

After collecting the group, it is advisable to observe them and note any changes in their skills, experience, etc. Some will undoubtedly excel, while others may falter in their commitment.

This is a simple example of a cohort — a group of potential customers who have learned about your product. You simply observe their behavior and purchases over time.
