Potential Addressable Market

  • CFO notes,
  • cards

When evaluating a market, it is common to divide them into several types, Potential Addressable Market (PAM) potential market, or what the value of the market will be (in money) in the near future, the purpose of this approach is to show that the market is growing, it is usually used for new markets, for example, now it is the LLM and AI market. It is growing very fast and understanding how this market will grow helps investors make investment decisions.

But it's important to remember that this is generally a hallucination that may or may not come true. No one is good at predicting the future, much less evaluating the future market. Think of the recent boom of the Metauniverses, and where are they? And after all, they had a market too, and invested in it.

The main thing you need to know about PAM is to show whether the market will grow and why.
